Bowling

• The Chattanooga Men's Classic is the first bowling league that has been signed on for the Pin Strikes center on Perimeter Drive at Highway 153 and Lee Highway, and others are sure to follow after the closing this past Monday of AMF Tri State Lanes in East Ridge. Up to now Pin Strikes has taken only walk-in customers and parties for its 24 lanes. The Chattanooga Men's Classic will begin play on Aug. 13 at 6 p.m., and a few spots for five-man teams remain. "I'm hoping to fill the entire place on Mondays," league secretary Scott Nesbitt said. Anyone interested can call him at 421-1341. He noted that Chattanooga Area Bowling Association officials plan to be at the center Saturday to certify it for USBC play.
