Harrison resident Jacob Wheeler was eighth after the next-to-last round Sunday in the Bassmaster Elite Series tournament on Lake Oahe in South Dakota. Wheeler's daily limit of five smallmouth bass weighed in at 14 pounds, 2 ounces for the second straight day, pushing his tournament total to 45 even as he earned a spot among the final dozen anglers who will compete today. Mark Daniels Jr. of Tuskegee, Alabama, was first at 56-6 after a Sunday haul of 17-6; Boyd Duckett of Guntersville, Alabama, was second at 50-1 overall; and Casey Ashley of Donalds, South Carolina, was third at 49-12. Wheeler was one spot ahead of Justin Lucas of Guntersville, whose tournament total was 42-6.
