Lookout Mountain Trail Races: Dec. 21, from Covenant College, 7:30 a.m. for 50- and 18-mile options, 8 a.m. for 10k; part of Wild Trails Race Series; $105, $65 & $45 until Dec. 13, then add $10. See wildtrails.org
Wauhatchie Trail Race: Dec. 21, Reflection Riding, staggered start by gender & age group, beginning with females 80-older at 9:30 a.m., males 25-29 last group at 10:15; first person to finish wins; hilly 6.7 miles on lower slopes of Lookout Mountain; each participant urged to recycle an item for the prize table (doesn't have to be running-related).
