JEFFERSON, Ga. -- The Georgia High School Association's boys' track meet began Friday with the distance races and field events. Gordon Lee's Derek Roberts won the Class A pole vault by matching his season-high height of 14 feet, 6 inches.

In Class AA, Chattooga's Senorise Perry won the long jump with a distance of 24-3, and teammate Rashad Ramsey won the triple jump with a leap of 47-1. Gordon Central's David Totherow was second in the pole vault at 13-6, and teammate Jordan Carter finished third in the discus with a throw of 142-6.

Dalton's Beau Brown finished fifth in the Class AAAA pole vault at 12 feet, and teammate Christian Pineda was sixth with a time of 4:34 in the 1600-meter run.
