Sullivan joins girls going to Trevecca

Chattanooga Christian standout midfielder Tiffany Sullivan has decided to continue her soccer career at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville.

She plans to sign scholarship papers Tuesday at CCS.

Sullivan was named to the Tennessee High School Soccer Coaches' Association and Tennessee Sports Writers' Association Class A/AA all-state teams, as well as first-team Best of Preps. She will be the fourth area player to sign with Trevecca, joining East Ridge forward Brooke Gann and Silverdale midfielders Hannah Squires and Ryan Alosi.

Bonner's 2K feat

With his first rebound in Wednesday's District 6-A basketball game against Sale Creek, Lookout Valley senior Stracey Bonner became the first boy at the school to register 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career.

Bonner reached the scoring mileston earlier in the season and has 1,009 career rebounds after grabbing 10 against the Panthers. He played sparingly as a freshman but has played a key role for the Yellow Jackets since.

"He's always been real active around the basket," Lookout Valley coach Joe Galloway said. "That's why he's been able to get a lot of garbage baskets for us."

Weaver passes 1,000

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's Seth Weaver went over the 1,000-point plateau for his career Thursday in a 65-49 win over Chattooga. Weaver hit a 3-pointer early in the second quarter to eclipse the mark.

The senior guard finished with 18 points and four blocks as the Warriors advanced to the Region 7-AA tournament at Dade County with a 65-49 victory over Chattooga.

"He's an LFO kid, and that's important because he chose to be here and overcame every obstacle he's faced," LFO coach Brian Oliver said. "He's truly a leader and a straight-A student -- one of the real good kids in high school basketball."
