Chattanooga area high school standouts for April 15

• Hunter Brown, Grundy County: He pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and scored two runs as the Yellow Jackets shut out Notre Dame in baseball, 5-0.

• Jake Pickett, Sequatchie County: He was the winning pitcher and knocked in the game's only run as the Indians escaped with a 1-0 victory over Bledsoe County in 7-AA.

• Zach Thompson, Ooltewah: He struck out 10 on his way to his fifth win, a 7-1 victory over Bradley Central that clinched the 5-AAA regular-season championship.

• Nathan Murrell, Boyd-Buchanan: He improved his pitching record to 4-2 with five strikeouts and went 3-for-3 in the Buccaneers' 4-1 victory over Grace Academy.

• Braxton Reese, Signal Mountain: He improved to 5-1 with 10 strikeouts in the Eagles' 4-0 district victory over Chattanooga Christian.

• Logan Alder, South Pittsburg: He pitched a one-hitter and struck out nine as the Pirates blanked Lookout Valley 9-0 in a District 6-A game.

• Austin Layne, Marion County: He struck out 12 in the first half of a doubleheader as the Warriors beat Van Buren County 15-0 and 17-1

• Ryan Dahle, McMinn Central: He had a 3-for-3 day as the Chargers defeated Meigs County 5-2 in a 5-AA game.

• Ramsey Seagle, Baylor: He scored twice in the Red Raiders' 4-0 home soccer victory over Ensworth in a Divison II East/Middle region game.

• Lydia Ritchie, Bledsoe County: She struck out 20 in the Lady Warriors' 5-4, 12-inning softball win over Meigs County.

• Jamani Greer, Arts & Sciences: She homered, doubled and singled, knocking in six runs, in a 16-4 victory over Silverdale Baptist.

• Shelby Jordan, South Pittsburg: She tripled in three runs as the Lady Pirates shut down Richard Hardy 10-0 in five innings.

• Ashley Irvin, East Ridge: She pitched a four-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with two RBIs as the Lady Pioneers beat Signal Mountain 11-0.

• Kaitlyn Williams, Polk County: She doubled twice and singled, batting in two runs, in the Lady Wildcats' 3-2 win at Cleveland.

• Luke Orthner, McCallie: His No. 3 singles win ended the tennis match against chief rival Baylor with the Blue Tornado winning 4-3 after losing the doubles point.
