Hixson's homecoming night was cut short by a constantly running second-half clock.

Red Bank receiver Calvin Jackson helped the Lions run their way to a 42-7 victory over the Wildcats on Friday night.

After early offensive woes, Red Bank reached the end zone first on an 85-yard interception return by defensive back Tyler Jones. That spark of momentum allowed a now healthy Jackson, who had been nursing an injury the first half of the season, to help jump-start the Lions offense.

"We just knew through his rehab that he was ready," Red Bank coach Chris Brown said of Jackson. "He needed a heavier workload to get him ready for our run through the region."

Jackson's first touchdown came on a 6-yard reception from quarterback Madox Wilkey. As Red Bank repeatedly moved the ball into the Wildcats' red zone, Brown continued to call his star player's number out of the wildcat formation. Jackson added two touchdowns on 7- and 3-yard keepers.

"The coaches told me that this was going to be a breakaway game for me," Jackson said. "After not playing as much the first few games of the season, it felt good to come back healthy."

Jackson finished with 66 yards rushing and 31 yards receiving. Wilkey impressed as well, completing nine of 12 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns.

The Lions were aided by three Hixson turnovers, allowing them to maintain good field position all night.

"We're young in the backfield and at linebacker," Wildcats coach Gary Murray said. "I feel like we're going to keep growing and getting better and better. It just takes some time."

Hixson's lone score came from receiver Tre Warthan on an 8-yard end-around run in the second quarter.
