Gordon Lee and Schley County will have to decide the GHSA Class A public school baseball championship Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Savannah after splitting a pair of games Monday at Historic Grayson Stadium.

The Chickamauga-based Trojans (31-5) won game one 2-0 on another pitching gem from junior Jake Wright, who allowed only two hits and struck out 13 batters to out-duel Schley ace Dylan Taylor. The Wildcats (29-6) turned the tables in game two, winning 3-2 as sidearming righty Lorne Barineau went the distance on a six-hitter.

Gordon Lee, the 2018 state champion, scored single runs in the fourth and sixth innings of game one. Speedy Will Sizemore led off the fourth with a single, went to second on a one-out walk to Brody Cobb and scored a batter later when Chris Potter grounded into a fielder's choice. Potter's single in the sixth brought home Cobb, who had doubled with one out.

Wright did the rest, though there was drama in the seventh inning. A pair of two-out walks had the Wildcats in business. Trypp Lumpkin then singled to right, but Gordon Lee's Cade Peterson threw out Ashton Goodin at home to end the game. To make matters worse for Schley, Goodin was ejected from the game for running into catcher Potter.

Goodin had to sit out game two, which was tied at 1 entering the third inning when the Wildcats got one-out singles from Garrett Peavy and Dakota Albritton and a two-run double from Taylor. The Trojans got within one in the bottom half on Hunter Hodson's RBI triple, but Barineau allowed only three hits the rest of the way.

Two of those came from Wright and Justin Wooden to put runners on third and second in the fifth, but Barineau struck out Sizemore and induced Hodson into a fielder's choice.

Wooden had a pair of hits in game two, while Garrett Ramey had an RBI.
