Four high school football games that had been postponed by Friday night's storms were completed Saturday across the area.

In the afternoon games, Boyd Buchanan pulled away from Hixson for a 49-21 nonregion win, while Silverdale Baptist Academy lost 36-11 to Knoxville's Grace Christian in a Division II-AA East Region game.

Later, East Ridge defeated Signal Mountain 23-17 in a nonregion matchup and Ridgeland held off Heritage 25-20 in Georgia Region 6-AAAA.

East Ridge opened the second half with a 10-7 lead after making a goal-line stop just before halftime, but the teams traded the lead in the third quarter before Jalen Boykin's 52-yard scoring run put the Pioneers ahead for good.

The Pioneers (3-2) ran for more than 300 yards, and Keanu Johnson led the defense in tackles.

Boyd Buchanan led Hixson 21-7 with four minutes remaining before halftime when the game was postponed Friday. The Buccaneers (4-1) picked up where they left off Saturday afternoon, striking for three more scores in the third quarter.

"The guys handled it well, after getting home probably around 1 in the morning, then coming back to the football office by 9:30 for breakfast and to go over the plan before heading out to finish the game," Bucs coach Jeremy Bosken said. "It wasn't the ideal situation, but the attitude to adapt and overcome was great. The kids were motivated to finish strong."

Boyd Buchanan rolled up 470 total yards, led by freshman running back Matt Stone's 123 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Eli Morris added 120 yards on nine carries and threw for 111 yards.

"Our offensive line had a great week of practice," Bosken added. "We've got three senior leaders there and they felt like we hadn't run the ball good enough, so they really wanted to take ownership and work on that.

"We're to the point now where we haven't played our best football yet, and our kids realize that. We can still clean up some things and be a much better team. It was good to get some of our young guys some experience, too."

Silverdale fell behind 14-0 early and could not rally. Grace Christian's Caleb Curcio scored four of his team's five touchdowns, including a 32-yard scoring reception less than a minute into the game. The Rams (4-1, 2-0) outgained Silverdale 440-220 in total offense, including 337 passing yards from Cooper Riggs.

The Seahawks' points came on a 38-yard field goal in the first half by Reed Weller and a 30-yard TD connection from Turner Junkins to Cameron Mullins in the fourth quarter. Sebastian Hanks led Silverdale (1-4, 0-3) with 55 rushing yards.
