Chattanooga Christian School connected on 13 3-pointers, but fell 62-61 to York Institute on the first of a three-day Border Battle at South Pittsburg High School on Monday afternoon.
CCS was locked in from long distance in the second half as the team made nine 3s. Freshman Boo Carter scored 11 of his game-high 21 in the fourth quarter and finished with five treys.
However, a 39-point second half would not be enough for the Chargers who are now 3-2 overall on the season. Jackson Hilger (16 points) and Parker Graham (11 points, three 3s) contributed strong nights offensively in the loss.
Neither team shot well from the free throw line as the two sides combined to make 14-of-25 from the charity stripe.
York was paced by freshman Bryson Bilbrey who scored 19 points. The Dragons improved to 3-4 overall as Riley Cooper and Nic Smith were sharp with 17 and 16 points, respectively.
