Silverdale Baptist Academy has named Mike Connor as its head football coach.
Connor had been an assistant coach and worked on the administrative staff at Chattanooga Christian for the past 10 years. He has more than 20 years of experience in coaching, teaching and as an administrator in both public and private school settings.
"We are very excited about Coach Connor and his family coming to partner with us at Silverdale," said SBA athletic director Taylor Hasty. "We were looking for a leader who would best exemplify SBA's three pillars of excellence, integrity and discipleship. We believe we have found that leader in Mike Connor.
"His wealth of experience will be an asset to our academy in many ways."
Connor takes over the Seahawks program for Al Rogers, who resigned in December after nine seasons, a 50-46 overall record and three playoff appearances. That includes a school-best 11 wins during a run to the Class 2A state quarterfinals in 2013.
"We are very thankful to Al Rogers and the foundation he laid both on and off the field," Hasty added. "His work left a strong legacy upon which Coach Connor and his staff can build on."
Connor holds a master's degree in athletic administration from Ohio University.
"My desire is to establish and equip the students to engage their world as an obedient follower of Christ," he said in an SBA release.
