With the season still young, McCallie's basketball team keeps the wins rolling in.

Senior guard Wilson Rankin scored 18 points, and future Mercer Bears big man David Craig added 10 with 11 rebounds to lead the Blue Tornado to a 53-40 victory over Boyd Buchanan on Saturday.

McCallie won for the ninth time in 10 games to start the season.

Ridgeland 67, Dade County 58: Matthew Ramsey had 18 points as one of four scorers in double figures for the Panthers (2-4), followed by Kyan Clark with 17, Judd Anderson with 14 and Zack Harrison with 13.

LaFayette 71, Ringgold 47: Senior Aidan Hadaway scored 42 points, his second 40-point game of the season, as the Ramblers rolled to improve to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in Region 6-AAA. Jaden Morris added 10 points for the winners.

Van Buren County 57, Monterey 56 (OT): Taylor Hillis hit all four free throws in overtime, while Garen Lewis also stepped up with five of his 15 points in extra time to lead the Eagles to victory.

 

GIRLS

Chattanooga Christian 45, St. Cecilia 40: Lily Brady scored 17 points and connected on four 3-pointers to lead the Lady Chargers to victory.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 61, North Murray 26: The Lady Warriors (7-0, 3-0 Region 6-AAA) followed up their big league win over Ringgold Friday night with a blowout of the Lady Mountaineers as freshman Christen Collins had 24 points, with Christine Collins adding 12.

Ringgold 48, LaFayette 28: The Lady Tigers (6-1, 3-1) rebounded after a tough Friday night loss to rout the Lady Ramblers as Rachel Lopez had 16 points, four steals and four assists to go with Baileigh Pitts' 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Darlington 60, Trion 37: The Lady Bulldogs fell in the nonregion game despite 10 points from Ransley Lawrence.

 

FOOTBALL

On a wet Saturday, some of the Chattanooga area's top senior football players competed in the East-West All-Star Game at East Hamilton High School. The East squad fought back from a 14-8 deficit at halftime to win 32-14.

East 31, West 3: In a Tennessee high school football all-star game Wednesday at Austin Peay, a pair of local running backs led the East squad. Silverdale Baptist's Conner Delashmitt rushed for a game-high 61 yards on 15 carries and found the end zone once. South Pittsburg's De'Andre Kelly — MVP of the Pirates' TSSAA Class A BlueCross Bowl victory a week earlier — scored twice while gaining 42 yards on 13 carries.
