Midway through Tuesday's opening quarter Kenzie Campbell set the tone for Notre Dame in a key district victory.

The senior point guard applied pressure on Boyd Buchanan's inbounds pass to force a turnover and then seconds later drained a 3-pointer from the left corner. On their next possession, the Lady Irish received another jolt from sophomore Dayonna Perryman who euro-stepped her way through traffic to make a layup and free-throw for an old fashioned 3-point play.

Those two plays built a first-half lead that Notre Dame turned into a 51-38 Division II District 2-A home decision for its seventh straight win.

Campbell finished with 11 points, six assists and five steals while Perryman's toughness in the paint helped her lead all scorers with 16 points.

"Kenzie can get everyone involved and did a really good job of that tonight," said Lady Irish coach Jason Hill after his team improved to 8-3 overall, 4-0 in the district. "She has a motor and she brings it. When others feed off her we can be tough to stop."

Boyd Buchanan (6-2, 1-1) was led by Jalissa Sanders' 15 points and Dani Reeves added 10.

In the boys' game, sophomore Cole McCormick came up clutch to lead Notre Dame to a 38-34 victory. McCormick finished with 19 points and also had a game-saving steal in the final minute for the Irish (7-3, 3-0 district).
