Prep basketball roundup: Bradley Central girls cruise at home, now 4-0

The Bradley Central Bearettes opened their Thanksgiving Invitational at Jim Smiddy Arena on fire against a familiar foe.

Coach Jason Reuter's powerhouse program - which leads Tennessee with 32 all-time appearances in TSSAA girls' basketball state tournaments - made 11 3-pointers in Friday's 80-30 blowout victory over East Hamilton.

Katelin Ledford had a trio of the Bearettes' 3-pointers, while junior Hannah Jones shot 9-of-11 from the field and finished with 18 points and three steals in 17 minutes. Freshman Harmonie Ware added eight points, five rebounds and a pair of steals off the bench as a dozen players scored for Bradley Central (4-0).

Morgan Bone made four 3-pointers for East Hamilton (1-4).

Cleveland 59, University School (Johnson City) 3: In another matchup at Bradley Central, the Lady Blue Raiders dominated on defense as they jumped out to a 27-2 lead after the first quarter and finished the game with 30 steals. Cleveland's Katie Moore scored 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting with seven rebounds, four steals and three assists, Paige Moody added 10 points and Tyria Tanner had seven steals.

Knoxville Catholic 42, Notre Dame 34: Kenzie Campbell was 8-for-8 from the foul line while scoring a game-high 13 points for host Notre Dame in the loss, and Mary Fillauer added 11 points.

BOYS

Northwest Whitfield 79, Murray County 57: Will Anderson led four Bruins in double figures, scoring 22 points - 18 on 3-pointers - in Wednesday's win at the Ridgeland Thanksgiving Classic. Payton Baker added 16 points, Jaidyn Graham 14 and Dakota Blackwell 13 for Northwest (4-0), while Tad Stone led Murray with 17.

East Ridge 52, Heritage 48: Cadion Harris (17 points) and Tyree Smith (14) led the Pioneers to a Wednesday win at the Ridgeland Thanksgiving Classic. Kaleb Gallman topped Heritage with 15 points, all coming on 3-pointers.
