Prep roundup: Caleb Adams, Ramsey Brumlow star as Grace shuts out Red Bank

Grace Academy's Ramsey Brumlow and Caleb Adams provided all the damage needed on the baseball diamond in Saturday's 7-0 victory at Red Bank.

The senior tandem needed just 99 pitches as Brumlow and Adams combined for 11 strikeouts and limited the Lions to a single hit. They also starred at the plate as Brumlow doubled and drove in three runs while Adams tripled, stole two bases and had two RBIs.

A four-run fourth finished the Golden Eagles' scoring on a day when Wade Gaither was sharp at the plate with a team-high three hits.

Silverdale Baptist 10, MTCS 0: Seahawks senior Sebastian Hanks fired a one-hitter over five innings in which he struck out six Middle Tennessee Christian School batters and walked one. Hanks, who has allowed only one run in 20 2/3 innings this season, also went 2-for-2 with a double and pair of walks, while Turner Junkins and Brody Lamb each had two hits, with Lamb driving in two runs and Junkins scoring twice.

CAK 9, Silverdale Baptist 5: Christian Academy of Knoxville had 14 hits to spoil a strong performance from Silverdale's Cameron Mullins at the plate as the senior first baseman went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs. Junkins and Ian Reagan also had two hits for the Seahawks.

Soddy-Daisy 11, Ooltewah 10: In Friday's high-scoring affair, Soddy-Daisy senior Noah Ferguson went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, and Anthony Florio was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, a double and two RBIs. The Trojans won their seventh straight game in walk-off fashion as Elijah Hixson also sparked the win with two hits and a pair of RBIs. Ooltewah's Harrison Mills homered and drove in two runs.

SOFTBALL

McMinn County 15, Sequoyah 4: Ama Grimmett homered and drove in five runs, and Cami Wade went 4-for-4 with four RBIs as the Lady Cherokees had 18 hits in five innings.

Waverly Central 3, Walker Valley 1: Addy Girard threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings in relief for the Lady Mustangs, who allowed all three runs in the first inning.

Walker Valley 10, Independence 3: Alexis Thornton homered as she starred at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs. Sierra Brown and Madilyn Kidd also homered in the victory in which Ryann Presswood threw two scoreless innings of relief.

Walker Valley 7, Boyd Buchanan 4: The Lady Mustangs scored five runs in the bottom of the third and had three doubles and two triples in the comeback victory. Boyd Buchanan scored three runs in the first and was led by Brooke Watson, who homered and doubled while driving in two runs.

Walker Valley 8, Brentwood Academy 5: Kiarra Nicholes drove in two runs, and the Lady Mustangs scored six runs in the first inning.
