A rainy day that washed out the majority of prep baseball games in the Chattanooga area did not prevent three-time reigning state champion Baylor from taking care of business on the diamond.

The Red Raiders beat Georgia's Rabun Gap-Naccoochee 7-0 in five innings Friday night behind one-hit pitching. Patrick Johnson earned the win, striking out three batters in two scoreless innings.

John Emendorfer went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, Amari Jefferson was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored, and Henry Godbout doubled and drove in a run as the Red Raiders improved to 3-1.

On Thursday, Baylor beat Magnolia Heights 10-2.

Carson Yates hit his third home run in as many games, launching a grand slam as a part of a five-RBI night. Henry Ford was the winning pitcher, striking out six, and went 2-for-2 with two walks, two RBIs and a homer. Godbout and Hunter Herndon also had a pair of hits in the win, and Jon Larrea was sharp in relief.

Marion County 9, Chattanooga Christian 5: Trailing 5-1 heading into the fifth inning Thursday, the Warriors rallied to win thanks to patience at the plate (eight walks drawn) and errors in the field. Alec Barton had a pair of hits and an RBI single, and Nicholas Hoback doubled and scored twice for Marion. Conner Tyler drove in three runs and homered for Chattanooga Christian, along with Rafe Montgomery and William Wall. Winning pitcher Brayden Abney allowed one run in five relief innings.

South Pittsburg 13, Central 3: The Pirates totaled 14 hits and pulled away late, scoring seven runs in the final two innings Thursday. South Pittsburg's Jayden Mount was a star in the leadoff spot, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs. Kamden Wellington also doubled twice and drove in three, and winning pitcher Austin Jackson struck out six batters in five innings.

Cleveland 5, South Pittsburg 2: Will Scannapiego struck out eight while allowing two hits in 6 2/3 innings to lead the Blue Raiders to victory Thursday. Cleveland's Jamison Eidson went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
