A late rally by the Chattanooga Lookouts fell short Tuesday night as the visiting Mississippi Braves took game two of a five-game set at AT&T Field, 6-5.

The Braves (17-38 second half) built a 6-2 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh before the Lookouts (40-17) scored a pair of runs after loading the bases with no one out. T.J. White added a solo home run in the eighth, his 13th, to cut the lead to one, but Mississippi's Josh Graham came on to get the final four outs and record his first save.

Highly touted Braves prospect Mike Soroka (7-5) earned the win after going six innings and allowing six hits and two runs while striking out four. Lookouts starter Dereck Rodriguez (5-3) was tagged with the loss after allowing six hits and four earned runs and striking out two in 5 2/3 innings.

Mississippi out-hit Chattanooga, 12-7, with Dylan Moore, Austin Riley, Alex Jackson (two RBIs), Joey Meneses and Conner Lien (two RBIs) getting two hits each. Tyler Neslony added a fifth-inning solo home run, his first of the season.

White led the Lookouts with three hits, adding a double to his homer, while Edgar Corcino had two hits, including his fourth homer of the season in the third inning. Relief pitcher Alex Muren, assigned to the Lookouts from Fort Myers on Tuesday, pitched two hitless, scorless innings with two strikeouts.

The teams continue the series tonight at 7:15.
