SMOKIES 8, LOOKOUTS 3

Sunday's road recap: Tennessee scored the first seven runs and defeated Chattanooga for a second straight evening. It was a scoreless game until the fifth inning, when Vimael Machin hit a two-run home run to right-center field. The Smokies blew the game open in the seventh, when Erick Castillo and Eddy Martinez each had a two-run double to make it 7-0. The Lookouts scored twice in the eighth inning, when Jordan Gore, Zander Wiel, Brent Rooker and Luis Arraez opened with singles. Chattanooga dropped to 14-23 in the Southern League's second half and to 50-56 overall.

Next up: Game three of a five-game series at Tennessee is tonight at 7.

Pitchers: Sean Poppen (3-5, 3.95) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Duncan Robinson (5-3, 3.59) scheduled for the Smokies.
