Lookouts lose 2-1 at Montgomery

The Chattanooga Lookouts' plate struggles continued in a 2-1 Southern League baseball loss Tuesday afternoon in Montgomery, as they managed just three hits and lost for the eighth time in nine games.

Brett Sullivan's sacrifice fly to center field in the fifth inning scored Ryan Boldt to give Montgomery its 2-1 advantage. The Biscuits had jumped to a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a Peter Maris III home run to right, with the Lookouts (34-31) pulling even in the fourth when Alex Perez's two-out single to center scored James Ramsey.

Chattanooga's five-game series in Birmingham begins tonight at 8:05 EDT. Lewis Thorpe (2-4, 4.95 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, while the Barons will make a game-day decision.

The Lookouts placed outfielder Zander Wiel on the disabled list (SI joint dysfunction) retroactive to Sunday.
