Lookouts beat Biscuits for first win of season

TJ Friedl and Jose Siri produced eighth-inning RBI singles Saturday night to propel the Chattanooga Lookouts to a 6-5 triumph over Montgomery for their first victory of the season.

Friedl and Siri were a combined 5-for-9 at the top of the lineup for the Lookouts, who improved to 1-2 before an announced AT&T Field crowd of 5,008. Chattanooga's first three crowds this season have each been in excess of 5,000.

The Biscuits grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles to right field by Jesus Sanchez and Tristan Gray, but the Lookouts countered with a four-run second inning that was highlighted by Taylor Trammell's three-run home run. The homer was Trammell's first at the Double-A level.

Montgomery scored two runs in the sixth inning to deadlock the game at 4-4, and Gray's homer to right-center field in the seventh inning gave the Biscuits their 5-4 advantage. After Friedl and Siri put the Lookouts back in front, Lookouts relief pitcher Alex Powers worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning.

The two teams will play again this afternoon at 2:15, with Jordan Johnson scheduled to make his pitching debut for the Lookouts.
