Lookouts drop series opener to Smokies in Kodak

» Saturday's recap: Jose Siri had Chattanooga's lone hit as the Lookouts opened their series in Kodak with a loss. The Lookouts took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Siri reached on a fielding error, went all the way to second base, stole third and scored on Tyler Stephenson's sacrifice fly, which followed back-to-back walks for Taylor Trammell and Ibandel Isabel. Chattanooga cut its deficit to 5-2 in the fifth, when Siri's single drove in Brantley Bell. He was hit by a pitch, moved to second when Alfredo Rodriguez walked and went to a third on a groundout. Tennessee tied the game in the second on Connor Myers' RBI double, took control with a four-run fourth and scored its final run in the sixth. Five Smokies pitchers combined on the one-hitter but issued seven walks. The Lookouts and Smokies were scheduled to play a pair of seven-inning games, but the second contest was rained out.

» Next up: The five-game series takes a break on Easter, but a pair of seven-inning games are scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Monday.

» Pitchers: Chattanooga's Johendi Jiminian (0-1, 5.40) and Tennessee's Ian Clarkin (0-0, 0.00) were scheduled to start Saturday's second game. Monday's probable starters were listed as Rob Wooten (0-1, 6.30) for the Lookouts and Thomas Hatch (0-1, 5.65) for the Smokies.
