Chattanooga relief pitchers Wyatt Strahan and Joel Kuhnel combined to allow just one hit in four scoreless innings Thursday night as the Lookouts pulled away to defeat the Biloxi Shuckers 7-3 in the series opener before an announced crowd of 3,728 at AT&T Field.
Trent Grisham's home run to right field in the first inning gave the Shuckers a quick 1-0 lead, but the Lookouts answered with three runs in the second. Ibandel Isabel tied the game with a homer to right-center, and the Lookouts (8-11) went ahead 3-1 on Gavin LaValley's two-run homer to center.
Biloxi (11-10) pulled even 3-3 in the fifth, but Chattanooga went ahead for good later in the fifth on a Luis Gonzalez triple to center that scored Alfredo Rodriguez.
