In a battle of friends and foes, the Chattanooga Football Club lost 2-1 to Detroit City FC on Saturday night at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtrack, Michigan.

The 6,752 in attendance watched a pair of future professional soccer clubs well familiar with each other go at it.

Detroit City, playing its opening match in the National Premier Soccer League's Members Cup, built a two-goal lead as Marcello Borges and Danny Deakin scored in the the 23rd and 60th minutes, respectively.

CFC's Alun Webb sped through the defense and finished an impressive run by putting his shot into the bottom left corner of the net in the 67th minute to end the shutout.

Chattanooga is 0-2 in Members Cup play and will look for its first win against the Michigan Stars FC. The two will square off at 7:30 p.m. next Saturday at Finley Stadium.
