LOOKOUTS 3, BARONS 2

» Monday's road recap: A 2017 National League All-Star helped the Chattanooga Lookouts put a halt to a 14-game losing streak. Left-handed starter Alex Wood dealt six innings of four-hit, one-run ball to pick up the win in his rehab start. The 28-year-old Wood was one of the Cincinnati Reds' big offseason acquisitions after excelling for both the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers. Monday's victory kept the Lookouts from tying a Southern League record for most consecutive losses held by the 1971 Columbus Astros. Taylor Trammell's home run in the sixth tied the score at 1, and Gavin LaValley's two-out line-drive double to center field made it a three-run inning for the visitors. LaValley has five RBIs in his past four games. Juan Martinez pitched a perfect ninth for his sixth save. Chattanooga's pitchers did not walk a batter.

» Next up: Game two of a five-game series in Birmingham is tonight at 8:05 EDT.

» Pitchers: Scott Moss (6-4, 3.57 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Matt Tomshaw (3-4, 2.45) scheduled for the Barons.
