SMOKIES 4, LOOKOUTS 1
Monday's recap: While Chattanooga struck for 11 hits, Taylor Trammell's third-inning double to right field provided the visitors' only run. The Lookouts left a dozen runners on base and left the bases loaded in the ninth as Tennessee's Wyatt Short struck out Tyler Stephenson looking. For the Smokies (30-33), Gioskar Amaya drove in a pair of runs and Vimael Machin's solo home run to right in the third broke the tie for good. Trammell's 3-for-4 night for Chattanooga (34-28) was his best offensive showing since April 11, when he had four hits against Jackson. Trammell walked to load the bases in the ninth after Alfredo Rodriguez hit a ground-rule double and advanced to third on an infield single by Jose Siri. Siri had his fourth two-hit game in his last five games, while Rodriguez's two hits extended his hit streak to 12 games.
Next up: Game five of a five-game series in Kodak is Tuesday night at 7.
Pitchers: Johendi Jiminian (2-2, 3.40 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Cory Abbott (4-2, 3.39) scheduled for the Smokies.
