BARONS 3, LOOKOUTS 0

Thursday's recap: After starting May with a wow, the Lookouts finished it with a whimper. Nos. 8 and 9 hitters Brian Navaretto and Sean Miller had Chattanooga's only hits, back to back with one out in the third inning before a double play ended their team's only scoring threat. The Lookouts (31-22) had no other baserunners as they lost for the eighth time in 11 games after winning 15 of 17 to start the month; they have scored no more than one run in four straight games. Birmingham scored all of its runs with none out in the first inning, when Danny Mendick singled, Zack Collins walked and Eloy Jimenez homered to left field.

Next up: Game four of a five-game series in Birmingham, Alabama, is tonight at 8:05 EDT.

Pitchers: The Lookouts will make a game-day decision regarding their starter, with Jordan Guerrero (1-5, 6.46) scheduled to start for the Barons.
