The Chattanooga Red Wolves lost 1-0 to Forward Madison FC on Saturday afternoon at Hart Park in Madison, Wisconsin.

Forward Madison outshot Chattanooga 15-5, although each team had just three shots on target. The difference was a Michael Vang goal in the 50th minute, when he punched in the shot by following up a Wojciech Wojcik attempt that was saved by Red Wolves goalkeeper Alex Mangels.

The Red Wolves (5-4-3), who have lost two in a row after a five-match undefeated streak, return to competition Oct. 7 against North Texas at CHI Memorial Stadium in East Ridge. That Wednesday match is set for a noon kickoff and is one of two home dates remaining for Chattanooga in the 2020 USL League One schedule, with the other against Forward Madison (4-4-2) on Oct. 17.

Chattanooga's other remaining regular-season matches are Oct. 10 at Orlando City B and Oct. 24 at Richmond. With 18 points in the standings, the Red Wolves remain in contention for a spot in the league championship game, but Greenville has a strong grip on first place with 28 points.
