Ricky Ruiz scored late in the second half to lift the Chattanooga Red Wolves to a 1-0 win over Union Omaha on Saturday night in East Ridge.
Jason Ramos assisted Ruiz in the 79th minute, and Tim Trilk was credited with a pair of saves in goal. Chattanooga remained undefeated at home through 10 matches this season at CHI Memorial Stadium and improved to 8-1-8 overall, moving into first place in the USL League One standings with 32 points, two more than Union Omaha (8-2-6).
The Red Wolves are on the road for their next two matches, Friday against Toronto FC II and Sept. 4 against Fort Lauderdale CF.
Chattanooga FC cruises
Daniel Jackson scored twice as the Chattanooga Football Club defeated the Maryland Bobcats FC 3-0 on Saturday night at Finley Stadium. Juan Hernandez also scored and Alec Redington was in goal for Chattanooga FC, which improved to 2-1 in the National Independent Soccer Association fall season.
CFC is at home for its next two matches, facing the Los Angeles Force next Saturday and reigning NISA champion Detroit City on Sept. 4.
