Red Wolves draw at home; Chattanooga FC loses on road

The Chattanooga Red Wolves played Greenville Triumph SC to a 1-all draw Saturday night in front of 1,942 at CHI Memorial Stadium in East Ridge.

Reigning league champion Greenville (5-2-3) led for just five minutes before Blake Frischknecdt scored in the 24th minute for the Red Wolves (5-1-2), who are third in the USL League One standings with 17 points. Greenville's 18 points are second to Union Omaha (6-1-3), which has 21 and hosts the Red Wolves next Saturday at 9 p.m. Eastern.

CFC avoids shutout

Felipe Oliveira scored off a deflection in the 79th minute to avoid a shutout, but the Chattanooga Football Club lost 2-1 Saturday night to Detroit City FC at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck, Michigan.

Chattanooga finished the National Independent Soccer Association spring regular season 2-4-2 and will stay in Michigan to face the Los Angeles Force (6-2-0) at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in a spring tournament semifinal, with the winner facing Detroit City (6-0-2) in the championship match on July 3.
