The Chattanooga Red Wolves will start their third season of USL League One competition on May 8th at 2019 league champion North Texas, the first of a 28-game regular season announced Monday by the league.
The team's home opener will be a couple of weeks later, with Fort Lauderdale FC — owned by David Beckham — coming to CHI Memorial Stadium, which will feature the city's largest jumbotron, digital field runners, floodlights and the Executive Club and Sky Suites building, new additions to the field which was opened last season.
The Red Wolves will play each of the 12 teams both home and away, along with four matches against the Greenville Triumph, North Texas Soccer Club and North Carolina SC.
The top six teams in the regular season will then advance to the playoffs.
"Now that the season's here, we're ready to get going. Knowing who we're facing and when we're facing them allows us to start building momentum to get into the playoffs and into the final," said Red Wolves head coach Jimmy Obleda, who went 6-5-4 in his first season and finished fifth in the league standings. "Our players are hungry and motivated, they're ready to represent the city and the club. When they have that mentality, it's just a matter of time before they all play to their full potential."
