The Chattanooga Red Wolves improved to 1-0-1 against USL League One competition and 1-1-1 overall this season with a 3-1 win at North Carolina FC on Saturday night.
Rey Ortiz, Josue Espana and Aaron Lombardi scored for Chattanooga in a 10-minute stretch midway through the second half as the Red Wolves took control of the match at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.
NCFC (1-1-0) actually outshot the Red Wolves 11-10 in the match, but only two of those attempts were on goal, compared to six by Chattanooga, which bounced back from Wednesday's 1-0 road loss to Louisville City FC in the second round of the U.S. Open Cup.
The Red Wolves return to competition next Saturday, when they host the Richmond Kickers at 7 p.m. It's the first of-back-to-back matches for the team at CHI Memorial Stadium in East Ridge, with FC Tucson visiting the next weekend.
