Chattanooga Red Wolves captain Jose Carrera-Garcia's free kick in the 53rd minute looked destined for the back of the net, but Northern Colorado FC keeper Johan Penaranda made a sensational one-handed save on a deflection over the top cross bar.
Despite double digit scoring opportunities Saturday night, the USL League One match ended in a scoreless draw at CHI Memorial Stadium. The match was Chattanooga's first under interim head coach Jimmy Weekley who is filling in for the suspended Jimmy Obleda.
Chattanooga (6-8-3) and Northern Colorado (5-6-5) remain knotted up in the league standings with 21 points each on the season.
