HOOVER, Ala. -- The Chattanooga Lookouts' Josh Bell and Andrew Lambo were a combined 5-for-9 and scored four of the runs as the North Division squad defeated the South 7-0 in the Southern League All-Star game Monday night.
Bell, the North's starting third baseman, was 2-for-5 and had the game's only home run, a two-run shot in the third inning immediately after Lambo doubled off Montgomery's Jeremy Hellickson in his first plate appearance. That made the score 3-0, Huntsville catcher Jonathan Lucroy having singled in Stars teammate Shane Justis in the second inning.
Left fielder Lambo was 3-for-4. He and Bell had one-out singles in the fifth inning and scored on hits by West Tenn's Thomas Hubbard and Justis.
The Lookouts' James Tomlin was 1-for-2, while Justin Sellers was 0-for-3 and Lucas May was 0-for-1. The South squad got only four hits to the North's 11, but no one had multiple hits except Lambo and Bell.
The Tennessee Smokies' Jay Jackson got the pitching win as the fourth of the North's eight one-inning pitchers. Chattanooga's Matt Sartor pitched the seventh, allowing no baserunners and getting a strikeout. Two pitchers combined to get the South out in the ninth.
