The TSSAA announced Monday that due to the wet field conditions at the Richard Siegel Complex in Murfreesboro, the girls' soccer state championships will be postponed one week. The state tournament was scheduled to be held this week but instead will run Nov. 6-9.

With this past weekend's heavy rainfall and the projected forecast for more rain Wednesday and Thursday this week, the fields were deemed unplayable.

On Wednesday, Nov. 6, East Hamilton (11-8-2) will play in the Class AA state quarterfinals against Nolensville (12-3-3) at 5:30 p.m. EST. Signal Mountain (13-7) will continue its state title defense in the Class A quarterfinals against Madison Magnet (9-7-2) at 7:30 that night. Division I teams will play the semifinal round next Thursday and the championship matches on Saturday.

GPS (17-2), which won last year's Division II-AA state title, will face Father Ryan (12-3-2) in a semifinal next Thursday, Nov. 7, at 5:30 EST, with the final match the following day.
