The Chattanooga Football Club played to a draw in its first professional match, 1-1 Saturday night against Oakland Roots SC in California.

CFC's goal came from midfielder Ian McGrath, a header that Oakland goalkeeper Taylor Bailey couldn't get to in the 33rd minute.

Oakland - which played a man down after Robert Hines was issued a red card for his scuffle with McGrath less than 10 minutes after the goal - got the tying goal in stoppage time from Jack McInerny.

CFC, now part of the National Independent Soccer Association, returns to competition by hosting Michigan Stars FC at 3 p.m. on March 14 at Finley Stadium.
