The Easter Bunny said today that some of his Easter Sunday visits may be delayed this year.
"To keep kids safe, we will be spacing out visits over the next few weeks and months," the Easter Bunny said in a news release. "By spacing out deliveries, we will not spread germs."
Health officials here agreed that delaying some Easter Bunny visits this weekend is a good idea.
Sources say the Easter Bunny may still be able to reach some houses on Easter Sunday, but that he will wear a mask and gloves for safety.
Many children who don't get their Easter baskets filled this weekend or eggs in their yard can expect to get their goodies by summer, according to the Easter Bunny.
Some have speculated that the Easter Bunny may add extra candy to late deliveries as a way of saying he is sorry for the delay.
By next year, everything is expected to return to normal, the Easter Bunny said.
