Due to the coronavirus pandemic and limited visitation at area hospitals, Chattanooga's Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation is asking the community and their children and grandchildren to create "Get Well" artwork for patients.

Children can sign the artwork with their first name and ages and send it to Siskin Hospital at One Siskin Plaza, Chattanooga, TN 37403. It can also be emailed to siskinconnects@siskinrehab.org or dropped off at a drop box located inside the breezeway at the hospital's main entrance.

"Many of our patients have suffered life altering events due to illness or accident," said President and CEO Matthew Gibson in a statement. "These are unsettling times and we want to do what we can to lift our patients' spirits. There is nothing like the heart of a child and a child's artwork just makes you smile. With area children out of school right now, this is a great time to engage the children in our community to help brighten our patients' day."

The hospital will laminate the artwork for infection control purposes and post them in patient rooms across the hospital in the hope it will bring a little cheer during the unusual circumstances in which we are living and operating, according to hospital officials.
