Beginning Friday, May 15, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will reopen access to certain areas of the park that were previously closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But for those who are still homeschooling or self-quarantining at home, a virtual tour of the Civil War memorial park is being offered online.

The Chickamauga Battlefield comprises 5,300 acres of hilly forests and fields where Union and Confederate soldiers clashed in the summer of 1863, according to the park. There are eight stops on the virtual tour, and you can listen and read about each one here.
