Hamilton County government employees found out Tuesday that they're the latest to get special pricing for Volkswagen vehicles.
"It's kind of a thank you to Chattanooga," said Jon Arbuckle of Village Volkswagen.
Mr. Arbuckle said VW's corporate office asked the dealer to identify 30 of the largest employers in Hamilton and Bradley counties and offer them the dealer invoice price. That's about $500 off a Jetta sedan or $1,700 off a Tiguan SUV.
Other employers in the program include the city of Chattanooga, U.S. Xpress, EPB and McKee Foods. The only vehicles not included in the program are the diesel-fueled Jetta TDI and the Sportwagen because of limited availability.
