RINGGOLD Betty Jean Partin Strickland, 80, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011. A native of Knoxville, she has lived most of her life in the North Georgia-Chattanooga area. Betty was a member of Chapel of Prayer Church in Tunnel Hill and a former employee of Sweetwater Carpet and Fort Oglethorpe Nursing Home.She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Albert Strickland Sr.; parents, Clarence and Gracie Phillips Partin and two special dogs that died with her Toby and Kody. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, William "Billy" Strickland, of Ringgold, and Albert and Sheila Strickland, of Anderson, S.C.; two sisters, Bobbie Headrick of Ringgold, and Gladys "Tiny" Smith, of Fort Oglethorpe; three brothers, Billy Partin, of Stonebridge, Ga., Buddy Partin, of Englewood, Tenn., and Joe Partin, of Apison; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 2 p.m.. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Albert Strickland officiating.Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.The family will receive friends after 4:30 p.m. today and Sunday until funeral time at the funeral home.An online register book may be signed at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
