Edward E. Stevens (Ralph Chambers), 75, a resident of East Ridge, passed away at his residence on Sunday night Feb. 19, 2012.Edward was born in Harrison, on Feb. 15, 1937, a son of the late Gladys Irene Chambers. He graduated from Ooltewah High School in 1954 and spent most of his life in that area until moving to Cleveland, Tenn. in the 1980s and recently to East Ridge. Edward served his country just after high school by joining the United States Air Force.In addition to his mother, Edward is also preceded in death by her husband, Swann R. Chambers.Edward leaves her to cherish his memory his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia D. Stevens; eight children, Vickie Borden, Lonnie Stevens and Rochelle Stevens, all of Utah, Mark (Mary) Stevens, of Pueblo, Colo., Anthony (Linda) Stevens, of Birchwood, Amanda Owens (Brian) of Cleveland, Tenn., Teresa (Michael) Thomas, of Ooltewah and Misty (Jesse) Rogers, of Cleveland, Tenn.; one brother, Robert Jerry Chambers (Lillian); 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; very special friends Bob & Barbara Massengale; and a host other extended family members.A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Fort Hill Cemetery in Cleveland, TN with Robert E. L. Walker III, Michael Thomas, Brian Owens, Terry Chambers, Jerry Chambers Jr., and Logan Chambers serving as pallbearers.
