Novell A. Bivens, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012.A native of Louden County, Tenn., She has been a lifelong resident of Monroe County before moving to Chattanooga 12 years ago. A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Madisonville, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late W.P. and Sarah Smallen Williams and was the wife of the late George W. Bivins.She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Brown; three brothers, Varnell Williams, Coy Williams and Tralve Williams; son-in-law, Harry W. Dawson II; several nieces and nephews.Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte "Cookie" Dawson, Chattanooga and Sandra C. Raper, Madisonville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jeffrey M. (Sandra R.) Raper, Dava C. (Dan) Ford; Michelle (Scott) Rockholt, Harry W. (Tomasa) Dawson III; great-grandchildren, Haley (Brian) Jenkins, Lillian C. Ford, Gracie Raper, Brittany Rhoades, Maggie Dawson, Betsy Dawson, Maribeth Dawson and Haley Rockholt; sisters, Louise Bradley, Lake Placid, Fla., Unie Dargie, Titusville, Fla., Zula Scott, Richmond, Ind., Faye Clevenger, Detroit, Mich., and Pearl Kirkland, Madisonville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Jane Jaffee, Detroit, Mich.A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. before the service.The family will also receive friends 2-4 p.m. on Saturday at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery immediately after.Please share your memories at ChattanoogaEastChapel.com.Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S.
