Noble Tolliver

Jr.Noble Edward Tolliver Jr., 76, passed away in a local hospital on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012.He was born Aug. 15, 1936 to the late Noble Edward Tolliver Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Tolliver. He was preceded in death by son, Noble Edward Tolliver II; stepmother; Elizabeth Tolliver, and three siblings, Varnell and Betty Tolliver, Larry Lee.Noble, affectionately called Jr., was a very sociable person and enjoyed helping others. Noble never met a stranger and loved telling stories about people he encountered over his life time. Jr. had a very sharp mind and was able to recall any event regardless of how much time had passed. He was a determined individual and even though he cared for his younger siblings, he was able to complete his GED.He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He leaves to cherish his memory his beautiful wife of 47 years, Mary M. Tolliver; four children, Judy, Darnell, Brenda and Belinda Tolliver; three brothers, Edward (Dorothy) Lee, George (Sandra) Burrell, Kevin Green; four sisters, Doris (Robert) Smith, Shirley Vance, Laverne Lee, Glenda (Tommy) Shropshire; three grandsons, Brandon Elder, Dominique Harris, Bryan Rivers; two granddaughters, Schachle Tolliver, Brianna Elder; one great-granddaughter, Iyahna Elder; great-grandson, JacqKarrion Tolliver; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.Funeral services will be at noon Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at The Springs of The Living Water Bible Baptist Church, 2900 Dodson Avenue. Dr. Jessie Broadnax will be officiating.Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
