Mona Manning

OAK RIDGE Mona Augusta Manning, 85, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the Methodist Medical Center.She was born Nov. 9, 1927 in Chattanooga, one of six children born to Robert and Mona Warters Manning.She was a longtime member and organist at St. Marys Catholic Church and active with various church guilds. Miss Manning served as a Dominican sister and teacher for over 30 years. She loved music and was a Master Organist. She enjoyed crocheting and the many valued friendships made over the years.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Manning, Francis Doub, Jack Manning, William Manning and Peggy Vincent.She is survived by several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and Monday from 4-6:30 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary.The family will receive friends also on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by the Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Appiah, the Rev. Michael Woods, Rev. Bede Aboh and Msgr. Bob Hofstetter officiating.Private inurnment services will be held at a later date when her ashes are placed in St. Marys Columbarium.The family asks that any memorials be made to St. Marys Catholic Church Music Ministry or to your local Humane Society.An on-line guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.
