Amy Marchmon

Amy Helen Payne Marchmon, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013. She was born to the late Idus H. and Nancy E. Head Payne in Dekalb County, Ala.She has been a resident of Chattanooga for the past 66 years and was of the Baptist Faith. Helen retired from Buster Brown in 1997 after 40+ years and enjoyed her time with the seniors groups from East Lake and East Ridge.Helen was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Marchmon; son, Terry Bruce Marchmon; infant son, Othell Marchmon; sister Hazel Buttram; and brother, Jack Payne.She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Graham (James R. Powell), of Ringgold; sister, Annie Mae Bennefield Rowell; grandchildren, Kimberly Starr Daniel, Christopher C. Neale, Julie Neale Hipple, Jeremy Marchmon, and Amber Shahan; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the funeral home chapel, with Min. Benny Mills officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 3 p.m. on Monday, all Day Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe.
