Vestie Ledford

Leroy Ledford McDONALD Vestie Leroy Ledford, 75, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Sept. 11, 1938 to the late Levi and Ula Mae Ledford. Leroy was a lifelong resident of McDonald, of the Baptist faith, and a member of Johns Memorial Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for 35+ years and retired from CRM. He enjoyed gospel singing, gardening, outdoors, and anything having to do with his family. Above all things Leroy was a family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his mother and father, Leroy was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie L. Ledford; grandson, William Leroy Ledford; and brother, Gene Ledford. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years, Irene Hill Ledford; daughters, Sheila (Ray) Massengale, Connie (Gary) Crowe, and Marty Tate; brothers, Winston Ledford and Larry Ledford; sisters, Jessie Taylor, Frances McIntyre and Alice Wheeler; grandchildren, Daniel Massengale, Eddie Massingill, T.J. Massingill, Ronnie Ledford Jr., Tambra Battle, Jason Crowe, and Ashley Eaton; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews; and extended family members and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 12, 2014, at John's Memorial Baptist Church located at 5110 McDonald Road, McDonald, TN 37403 with Pastor James Lance and Pastor Ken Purdie officiating. Interment will follow the service in Antioch Baptist Cemetery with Daniel Massengale, Eddie Massingill, T.J. Massingill, Jason Crowe, Travis Battle and Kerry Johnson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 12, 2014, from noon until the 2 p.m. service.
