Barbara L. Cox, 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 14, 2015. She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas and was of the Baptist faith. She was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1961 and retired from Clean Harbors Environmental Services in 2014 after more than 25 years as an accountant. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Gibson; husband, J.C. Cox; and sister-in-law, Jean McRae. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Barry (Jessica) Cox; granddaughter, Hannah Cox, all of East Ridge, Tenn.; brothers and sister-in-law, Dewey (Sharon) Reynolds of Edmonds, Wash., and Charles McRae of LaFayette, Ga.; several nieces, nephews and many cousins. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, May 18, 2015, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Billie Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.
