Derval Kennedy

Derval Lee Kennedy, 83, of East Ridge, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, in a local hospital. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Kennedy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired as a draftsman from Cavalier Corporation and loved to work in his yard. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Kennedy; and his parents, Marvin Oliver and Georgia Effie Camp Kennedy. Survivors include his son, Dwight (Dee) Kennedy of Bryant, Ala.; daughter, Kathy Vaughn of Chattanooga; sister, Marie (Steve) Corder of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 S. Moore Road, the Rev. Bill Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
