Howard Banther

Howard Marion Banther, 74, passed away on Oct. 8, 2015. He was born on Oct. 5, 1941, to the late Howard Taft and Velma Shelton Banther. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Honestville Baptist Church. Howard was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Banther; sister-in-law, Faye Banther; and brother-in-law, Allen Evans. He leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons, Joseph Leon Banther and Marty McNabb (Michelle); sisters, Hazel Evans and Beatrice McDaniel; brothers, Paul Banther (Gail), Price Banther and Steve Richardson (Katie); granddaughter, Mia; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, and from 1-2 p.m. on Monday October 12, at Honestville Baptist Church, 8526 Ooltewah-Harrison Road, Ooltewah, Tenn. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, with Pastor Greg Banther and Pastor Jeff Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery in McDonald, Tenn.
