Judy Ferriss

Dr. Judy Ann Ferriss, 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. She had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of her life and was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene. She graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with her PhD and was a teacher with the Chattanooga School System for more than 25 years. She loved to travel, enjoyed music and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Lewis Ferriss. Survivors include her sister, Mary Katherine Calkin of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence Jack and Frances Ferriss Jr. of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and Robert Glen and Shirley Ferriss of Hixson, Tenn.; best friend, Wanda Smith; and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.
